There will be more things said here as time goes on. My “new” blog. I apologize in advance for the lack of gifs that will be attached, and the amt of reading that will be required. ;1
xanga recently went under. I used the site quite heavily from 2005-2009, that significant period of life, the “early twenties”. I just graduated from college, Wong Fu had no clear direction, there was no twitter, ig, tumblr yet… i was doing a LOT of “figuring out” of my life, as such happens in one’s early 20s. And as a result, I blogged a lot. I shared many thoughts, random to very personal, reflections, and observations.
Once twitter and everything else came around I slowed down significantly (2012 only has 1 post, and it was about how I was getting too tired from all the social media to keep up with blogging). When xanga announced it was going to start from scratch, I quickly archived all my entries.
Tonight I was reading through a good portion of them in search of a certain post w/ an idea that I want to use for a future short. In reading, it made me miss the process of blogging. I do keep a personal written journal, but there’s something different about sharing a public post.
One particular entry caught my attention. It was written in 2007, regarding a certain perspective of my relationship status. As I read it, I noticed that it was painfully identical to how I’m feeling right now… but then I realized that 2007 was almost 7 years ago. 7 years have passed, and I’m going through the same internal struggle and confusion as my early 20s. I’m about to turn 30, and nothing has changed. How depressing, how discouraging. Yes, I’ve accomplished some incredible things, made unbelievable progress in certain areas… but that lost “little” 22 yr old wrote something back then that this lost 29 yr old still struggles with. Why?
Some things change.. many things don’t.
I haven’t been this transparent to the public in awhile. Considering to continue. I dunno if tumblr is the best place for blogging though, seems like I’d need to include at least 5 gifs per entry to post on here, haha. Will probably start a wordpress?
Donut run with scissors.
hahaha… good advice, yummy imagery
I think this one is my favorite… ;)
A little video gift for the 28th birthday of Philip Wang.
Part 2 of the October Blast project.
Ted Fu’s 31st Birthday (Part 1): http://youtu.be/BqQjElLKvNM
We tried gathering fans all over the world. Unfortunately, some have been very busy with school and work. But as we have met them all over the interwebz, they were all excited for Phil’s (and Ted’s) birthday. Wong Fu Productions definitely has the nicest and most awksome fans :]
Happy Birthday Phil! On behalf of all the Wongfuloves all over the world, we wish you more birthdays to come. And may you have a great life. Thank you for being the outgoing, hardworking, inspiring Philip Wang. Keep doing what you love and remember that you can always count on us. We love you! ♥
Huge thanks to all the Wongfuloves who took part to make this project possible! Keep spreading the Phil Wang and Wong Fu love~ “VV”
Just seeing this now. Very touching. It’s unbelievable that there are ppl this nice and thoughtful. Thank you to everyone involved in making this. You motivate and inspire me.
Minimalist posters I made for Wong Fu Productions’ short films.

Whoa, great interpretations!!
These “Step By Step” episodes are getting harder and harder! Moon definitely pushed me to my limit in this one. For those wondering, yes, I really do learn the piece in a one day, actually just 2 hours. I think with a little more time to practice I could do better ;P
BTW, with the ISA concerts coming up, maybe I’ll try to do one of these routines on stage?? Who wants to see that? Don’t miss out on the shows… info and tickets HERE. Buy your tickets today!
Our newest video, released last night! We shot it on the fly while we were at Comic Con last week. Two quick things I wanna say about it…
1. It felt really good to do a fun, quick, casual video, especially after doing the huge project that was “Away We Happened”. Even though we were super busy, we made time for this, which is important because it reminds me how Wong Fu Productions originally started, just a few friends, going around making videos for kicks, and that’s exactly what this was, haha.
2. While this is definitely a silly comedy sketch, I hope people can see that we actually did try to put a positive message into the story. This video is for all the people who might feel misunderstood sometimes or like misfits… You are special to someone out there, you might even be their hero. Don’t forget that!
I’m a little behind… sorta missed the entire train of that little harry potter thing, lol…
Lately I’ve been feeling social media fatigue. Yes, #firstworldproblems, but man, it feels like it’s impossible to keep up, and I’m getting to a point where I just don’t want to anymore.
It’d be nice to simplify. Back to just one little Away Message box with a few choice quotes, links, and passive aggressive words, haha
…wait a sec, What am I doing on Tumblr?? I’m gonna do this on xanga… og social media, haha. READ MORE
